Do I like crochet? You can say I’m hooked, especially as it’s one of this spring/summer’s hottest trends.
When it comes to beachwear, crochet will always be a thing but the crochet trend that is creating a buzz this 2020, extends well beyond the beach – to town and then to cocktails and dinner.
Altuzarra has me swooning over their cream with contrasting red trim crochet maxi dress – feminine and flattering with an up to there side slit – another hot trend this season. If you do dare to bare, I would suggest a nude bodysuit underneath or a nude strapless bandeau or boy short. Otherwise, play it safe with a nude slip dress.

For a bit more coverage, Altuzarra makes this crochet paneled ribbed jersey midi dress. Think navy knit until mid-thigh, then tiers of intricate crochet panels. I would style it as seen on the Net-a-Porter site, layered with an oversized navy blazer for an added ‘too cool for you’ factor.
I’m also loving many crochet tops this season by it labels Isabel Marant, Rachel Comey, and Missoni. Think 70’s/boho vibing pieces that would pair perfectly with denim jeans or cutoffs.
Be bold with this multicolored striped crochet cropped tee by Missoni or go tonal with this ivory crochet cropped tank by Rachel Comey. This makes for a perfect summer staple because it’s a neutral that would work well with many pieces in my closet. It also comes with a matching midi skirt which is quite chic.

Last but not least are the endless array of crochet beach coverups and bikinis from covetable beachwear designers like Anna Kosturova, Zimmermann and Akoia Swim to name a few.
I can’t wait to take this Anna Kosturava crochet cover-up with me on my next beach getaway. Love the ruffle detail and the muted rainbow colorway. Any and all tops from Akoia are 100 percent sweet n sexy as are Zimmermann’s crochet barely-there bikinis.
