Long gone is the “No white after Labor Day” rule, and I couldn’t be happier. There is something so fresh about winter whites. I especially love a monochromatic head to toe look – which is trés chic and classic. It also happens to give an elongated appearance which is always a plus, especially for the petit set like myself.
I tend to lean towards an off-white, creamier palette during the winter season as it’s a slightly warmer and softer tone, but like I mentioned, there are no rules, so wear what works for you!
This season, I came across these off-white high rise bootcut jeans by Helmet Lang at Barney’s New York. I swiped immediately as finding a flattering white denim is no easy feat. I paired this with an oversized cream colored wool cable knit turtleneck that I bought seasons ago from a favorite local boutique, Ludivine. I did a slight tuck in the front to accentuate the waist and then paired them with a brown leather mid heel ankle boot. For accessories, I added this hand knit wool beanie by Mischa Lampert as it adds a bit of fun and warmth of course. This brown suede box bag by Mark Cross is a favorite of mine and so are these sunnies by Oliver Peoples (see similar ones here).
Another great option for jeans of the winter whites variety are these cropped wide leg ones by Rachel Comey. In general, I’m a big fan of Rachel Comey denim and I happen to wear these year round. Come winter, I will do an ankle boot but as the season warms up, I will pair with some kicks or flatform sandals for a bit of height. And while I haven’t tried this off white version by Current/Elliott, I do own and love the denim ones.
