Velvet is one of those fabrics, that when you pass it in a store, you just want to make love to it. This season, there are countless velvet options to romanticize about. Saint Laurent went velvet crazy this season with some sexy luxe cocktail dresses and the iconic Le Smoking jacket. Beau Souci has a black velvet slit cocktail dress that is on my lust list.
Stella McCartney and Gucci both made jogger pants which are perfect to transition from day to night. I opted for the Stella McCartney Shown here. I paired mine with stilettos and a plaid shell. A blazer would also be another great evening option. For a more casual look, I would trade in my stilettos for some kicks and a cropped sweater. This would work well together as the pants are high waisted. Vince does offer a pair at a gentler price point, a la Juicy Couture.
Altuzarra, Etro and Frame designed amazing velvet blazers, a perfect classic with a lot of luxe.
Alice and Olivia, Mother of Pearl, and Self Portrait all offer some cool off the shoulder velvet tops, perfect for cocktails or for well… cocktails. Fleur du Mal makes a midnight velvet bodysuit that is to die for. This would work perfectly under a bomber jacket or blazer or alone for some va va voom.
How do you plan to rock velvet this fall?
