After the summer season of nudes and shimmery glosses, I’m ready for the glamor and richness of the red lip. I’m a long time fan of the fall red lip, specifically Heat Wave by Nars but I thought it would be a good time to update my pout with some new coats of red. I was inspired by an interview with Isabella Rossellini in this month’s InStyle magazine. This iconic beauty has numerous reds in her beauty arsenal but most recently speaks of Lancome’s L’Absolu Rouge in Lie de Vin. I’m running, not walking, to Bergdorf’s to test this warm brick shade out.
I did make it to Barney’s Beauty Level to test out some of their most popular fall red lip colors, and paid a visit to make up artist extraordinaire, Rafael German for his recommendations.
He suggested Rouge D’Armani Matte in Lucky Red (403) which was a score! He also recommended wearing Rouge D’Armani (also 403) on top of Lucky Red for a deeper look. Another gorgeous shade is Rouge Stiletto (329) by Givenchy. This was recommended by Net-a-Porter as one of their most popular shades of red. Needless to say, I’ll be puckering up with this one too.

Though my mission was simply to find the perfect fall red lip, I got sidetracked by renowned make up artist to the stars, Gucci Westman’s new line, Westman Atelier. Rafael recommended her Super Loaded Tinted Highlight in Peau de Peche, worn along the cheekbone which gives an unbelievable glow. He finished the cheeks with Baby Cheek Blush Stick in Petal for some subtle youthful rosy color.

Last but not least, eye fell in love with 111Skin’s Sub-Zero, De-Puffing Eye Duo. This two-part product tightens, brightens and gives a little glow. I haven’t yet noticed the tighten part but I’m all over the glow and brightening benefits. I’ll take it!
