Last year I met Lele Sadoughi at The Westside boutique and fell in love with her much-in-demand headbands. Part luxe/part preppy and 100% fashionable, I knew the headband trend would be hair to stay. I immediately purchased two of her velvet headbands with a center knot – one in black and one in turquoise. Fast forward to one year later and I continue to have many a Blaire Waldorf moments with this stylish hair accessory. I have since added a few more headbands to my collection.

From satin padded styles to crystal and pearl embellishments, the headband options are endless. What’s great about these headbands is that they look good on most hair types and styles – think long, short, wavy straight, worn with a bun or straight locks.
Headbands are an easy statement piece that can add the perfect touch of luxe and have admittedly come to the rescue on many a bad (well dirty/oily) hair days.
Though I think Prada may have started the headband trend on the Spring 2019 runway, many accessories designers have followed suit and continue to do so from Salvatore Ferragamo to Loeffler Randall, Jennifer Behr, and Lelet NY.
This past season, I went for Jennifer Behr’s plaid wool headband which by the way is now 50% off. I love that is has a bit of padding – I’ll take all the height I can get.

I was also excited when I came across this faux pearl headband by Lelet NY that is so divine, as well as affordable. I had been dreaming about a pearl headband ever since I came across an unaffordable version by Dolce & Gabbana.
I paired the headband with this Alessandra Rich dress and feel oh so regally Brit.
Other headband must-haves are the leopard print and I am just swooning over Prada’s pink crystal-embellished version.
