Aloha!
I’m dying to visit Hawaii (it’s at the top of my 50 state bucket list) but for the time being, I’ll settle for this pastel print Hawaiian button down short sleeve shirt. I brought this piece with me on my trip to Austin and paired it with skinny blue jeans and white leather mules (see similar here). I also took this shirt with me on a recent trip to Miami and paired it with denim cut-offs by Alexander Wang and this cute lavender and white striped crochet bikini by Solid and Striped. This shirt is a dream with its relaxed fit and I am transported to the tropics by the palm trees, tequila sunsets, and waves. Some may call the shirt nerdy and I’m ok with that, but I prefer to think of this piece as more of a dad-vibe and is definitely L.A. cool. This Hawaiian shirt works well both on the streets of Manhattan and on the beaches of well, the Jersey Shore because that’s where I’ll be this summer.

This Amiri shirt pictured below is more luxe but there are similar affordable options. R13 makes a super cool version as does Rainbouu. There are cropped, tied at the waist and classic styles to choose from. Hawaiian printed Kimonos is another way to go and can be thrown over a bikini or jeans.

Seems like this trend never went out of style with the boys so if you’ve always dreamed of coordinating with your partner, the Hawaiian shirt is the perfect piece to play matchy matchy.

When I finally do make it to Hawaii, I’ll be fashion ready, but for now, a local luau will do.
