I am definitely one to embrace the start of a new season, especially Fall. New beginnings, fall foliage, pumpkins and cinnamon spice everywhere and a wardrobe reset – think warm colors and luxurious fabrics.
While I was at Saks 5th Avenue a few weeks ago pulling for a client, I came across this cashmere brick colored turtleneck sweater by SEA which is the epitome of a rich, cozy, fall fashion piece – i.e the perfect base to any good fall outfit. It was unfortunate that my client didn’t care for it, and so fortunate for me that I did. Basically one of the perks of styling is that I end up with the pieces that my clients pass on – an occupational hazard if you will.
This brick colored sweater is a great compliment to brunettes and would work well with most complexions – just enough pop of color without being too bold. The puff shoulders and voluminous sleeve add a romantic touch. I paired the sweater with my high waisted GRLFRND jeans but this sweater would also work well with a tonal or grey, navy or plaid pant.
Speaking of jeans, I just found a new high waisted pair by RE/DONE which I’ve added to my collection of favorites. I’m excited on two levels – one, I’ve never owned a pair of jeans by this cooler than cool brand before. Secondly, each pair is unique and one of a kind which doesn’t always guarantee the perfect fit. I got denim lucky as this first pair I tried on, fit – score!
I accessorized the look with my favorite brown suede Mark Cross box bag. I love that this transitions well from day to night with the lady like top handle option and cool girl shoulder strap.
I wore these plaid Manolo Blahnik heels that I’ve owned before everyone was mad for plaid (see plaid options here and here). Another good print option for the ultimate fall outfit is leopard which is all the rage this season. Sneakers and booties both apply.
To top off the look, I wore a taupe felt fedora by Eugenia Kim (see similar one here). How’s that for fall fashion?
