With September just 3 weeks away, it’s time to think about which fall transitional pieces to invest in.
I am all about building a smart wardrobe consisting of classic pieces that can be worn year after year and still remain relevant or as the fashion world likes to say “au courant”.
Le Black Blazer
The black blazer is a wardrobe must-have. It completes an outfit in a sophisticated or an elevated coolness sort of way, depending on the blazer style you opt for. Sometimes, when I barely have the time to think about what to wear in the morning, I slip on a pair of jeans, a white tee, a black belt, a pair of loafers, and voila, le blazer!
I am a big fan in particular, of the black Acne double-breasted blazer. I love this timeless style so much, that I also own this blazer in a variety of other colors and they all are a constant go-to when creating outfits.
I recently read that the hourglass silhouette blazer is trending for the upcoming season. Stella McCartney’s lust-have black twill blazer is cut with a slim fit and padded shoulders and is absolutely stunning. For those looking for this style at a gentler price point, Remain Berger Christensen also makes this must-have waisted blazer with an hourglass silhouette.
Le Bag
The black and brown bag are not only essential transitional pieces for fall but they’re also a fall/winter essential must-have. This season I am swooning over Khaite’s small suede unstructured yet sculptural tote that comes in a rich camel brown, and black. This is a style that would work wonderfully from day to night.
Another fabulous style that has caught my attention is this black leather mini structured tote by Loewe. I am obsessed with this chic bag which would also work perfectly for day or night
Le White Cropped Shirt
The white cropped button-down shirt continues to trend this season. I recently added this cropped fitted version with a padded shoulder by The Frankie Shop to my collection. It feels more dressy and will be easy to pair with any high-waisted pant/skirt come fall.
I came across a boxy-cropped version by Banana Republic. The fit looks fab and comes at a more affordable price point. For all you Theory lovers out there, here is their classic take on the cropped white shirt in a lightweight stretch poplin fabric. It falls somewhere in between fitted and boxy, hence classic.
Le Black Boot
This season I have my eyes (and toes) on these classic Chelsea leather ankle boots by The Row. Whatever The Row does, they do it to perfection and these
1-inch polished elevated essentials are no exception. For those who like a bit of a lift, these 4-inch beauties by Gianvito Rossi are definitely worth checking out. I love the rounded toe and the slim fit style – a super chic and elegant ankle boot option!
Le Leather Pant
Leather pants are another trend that is coming in strong for the fall/winter season but in my opinion, they are always a classic essential. Though these are a faux leather fabric, these tapered pants by Isabel Marant Etoile are h-o-t and currently in my shopping cart. These can be dressed down when worn with a pair of sneakers or dressed up with a high-heeled leather ankle boot.
These rich brown leather pants by Citizens of Humanity also look like they have a great fit. I am all for a high waist and cropped hem – super cool!
Le Mary Jane
What’s old is new again!
I remember wearing Mary Janes with knee-high socks back in my 20s and while I think I’ll have to forgo the socks, I am all for this style of shoe. Whether you’re on the lookout for a heel or a flat Mary Jane, I’ve got you covered.
I swoon for Gucci’s statement horsebit iteration which comes in both black and red patent leather, and a comfortable chunky 4-inch heel I might add.
If you prefer a flat shoe for running around town, these chic black leather Mary Janes by The Row are the answers to your dreams. Consider this shoe your fall elevated footwear essential.
Stay tuned for more fall fashion favorites coming your way!
