Before we know it, it will be sweater weather and with all the luxe, fashionable and cozy options out there, I sure am ready for it.
My first sweater purchase is this pastel print mohair knit sweater by Love Shack Fancy. I bought this from their adorable Sag Harbour boutique back in July. I’m not quite sure what I’ll pair this with just yet, but when all else fails, denim trumps all. If you’re Love Shack obsessed as I am, these kind of sweaters work well layered over their bohemian dresses or paired with their flowy skirts.
My second sweater purchase this season is this lavender stripe mohair scalloped turtleneck by Isabel Marant, Etoile.
Purple is one of my favorite colors and just so happens to be trending this fall. I also love anything stripes as you may have figured out by now. The voluminous sleeve and fitted style makes for a statement piece that pairs well with a high waisted trouser or jean. I paired the sweater below with jeans and white common projects for a basic every day look but can easy elevate this with a darker denim and some brown ankle booties.
Other stripe sweaters on my wish list are from cool brand Kule. Each season I invest in their preppy stripes. What I appreciate most are their part retro/part classic color combinations.
Nili Lotan is a definite a go to for luxe cashmere cozy sweaters. Prada sweaters are another great investment and their sweaters last forever – seriously. At a more moderate price point, Ulla Johnson makes some great multicolored knits as in this striped crochet knit pullover sweater and this merino wool zebra knit sweater. I’m also lusting after Acne’s mohair cable sweater in ivory and sky blue.
Last but not least, I lust after this Anna October green sweater. That definitely makes a statement.
My only recommendation when buying sweaters is to make sure they don’t shed and think about whether or not you’ll be able to layer them comfortably with your winter coats when the weather dips. Other than that, happy shopping!
