The last time Mary Janes were trending, I was a sophomore at university, donning them day and night with over the knee socks. I was in Mary Jane heaven. Fast Forward 20 years later and this shoe trend is back with a vengeance.
I was curious to know who these shoes were named after and found that the shoes were first worn by Mary Jane, a character from the Buster Brown comic strip which first appeared in the New York Herald in 1902.
With many variations from Gianvito Rossi’s lace rendition to Miu Miu’s all out glittery heels, Ms. Jane would be clicking her heels today.

You know that brilliant saying from that movie Field of Dreams… Something about baseball and the hottie Kevin Costner…”build it and they will come” he was referring to a baseball field, but, someone needs to make a party so I have a reason to buy those Miu Mius! There insane impractical and so slammin’. (I over use the word cool so I chose slammin for the moment.)
