I’m going to take bragging rights about fashion designer Rosie Assoulin. Not only is she a family friend but she is also married to my first cousin. Rosie began her career interning for many impressive fashion houses and then went on to launch her own label. I am inspired by Rosie’s perseverance, commitment and passion which led her to success.
There are some people that you look at and you instantly sense creativity and talent. Rosie has always carried this with her.
Her spring/summer collection is a winner! As with all her collections, there is an effortless glamour, making the pieces totally wearable. This collection is quite architectural; the lines are clean and the look is modern.
My favorite pieces are the layered ruffles on the skirts and dresses that evoke for me the feeling of a Spanish dancer. It could be the fact that I have some Cuban blood and that my favorite ballroom dance is the tango.
All of Rosie’s designs are tasteful, yet with just enough hint of skin to add a little summer excitement!
