I’ve received quite a few requests from my readers asking what to wear as a guest to a summer wedding. I was so up for the challenge as I actually have never done a post on summer wedding guest gowns before. I love it when you guys send suggestions my way!
When it comes to summer weddings, I love a romantic flowy gown. One of my favorite summer wedding gowns designer is Johanna Ortiz. I find her fit and styles to be super flattering, dramatic yet effortless and tres romantique. I love her bold use of color and her prints are so vibrant and full of life. For the summer season, I am coveting this botanical cut out maxi dress and this floral crepe de chine maxi dress. If cut-outs aren’t your thing or perhaps the dress code is a bit more formal, Ortiz makes these two-tiered dresses – one is a blue and white ruffle silk dress and the other, a red printed floral maxi dress.

Speaking of florals, I am also a big fan of the Brock Collection. This soft green and pink floral printed gown is also super romantic, feminine and has a relaxed style. The lace detail is to die for. At the other end of the spectrum is this statement empire gown, also by Brock – think boned bodice, grosgrain ribbon lacing around the waist and a full feminine skirt.

For those who prefer sexy over sweet, it’s definitely worth checking out this black one-shouldered cut out crepe gown by Saloni. P.S. The price point is perfection. Another gown that will have you sizzling all night long is this David Koma crystal-embellished tulle paneled crepe gown.
For a conservative look a la Jackie O, this Carolina Hererra bow-embellished silk taffeta dress is a winner, and for those times when you don’t care to bare too much skin but still want to feel stylish, this Sara Battaglia bow back wool-blend twill strapless gown is a super elegant option. You’ll be able to eat as many baby lamb chops as you’d like and still dance the night away with ease. This gown also comes with side pockets. Does it get any better!

If you prefer color, but not necessarily a print, I’m completely in love with this lavender satin slip midi dress with lace detail by Jonathan Simkhai – also at a great price point.
