I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to pack away winter and suit up for summer.
This season, I came across lots of new swimwear styles and prints that will actually have you excited to get in that dressing room and give these swimsuits a try!
Let’s begin with Eres – a Parisian-based brand whose collection remains classic, chic, timeless, and elegant year after year. They wear well and most importantly, the fit is flattering. I own multiple versions of their bandeau and triangle bikini in both black and white and then depending on the season, I will add a new color or two to my swimwear (collection). Most recently, I came across this ginger-colored one-piece swimsuit with beaded embellishments – loving this unique earthy tone. For those who prefer a pop of color, this style also comes in a teal blue version.
Another favorite go-to brand is Solid & Striped. This season, in particular, has been amazzzing! I recently purchased 3 different styles from them all of which I love!
First up is this cut-it-out floral-smocked bathing suit. I have this same exact style in solid black from a few years back and it remains one of those feel-good suits.
Next is this mint pistachio check bikini set ( I took a size S) with sweet white trim detail. The underwire gives the girls great support and in general, another flattering fit.
Last but not least is this black ombre palm print bikini set which has me nostalgic for 90’s fashion. It comes in a few versions. I chose the bandeau style but they’re all pretty fab.
If retro-style swimwear is your thing, I love this patchwork swimsuit by Dolce & Gabbana. Agua by Agua Bendita is another brand whose printed bathing suits are so fresh and will have you dreaming of the Sicilian coast. I am particularly drawn to this red floral one piece and this hand-embroidered blue and white floral print one piece.
Last but not least is this white bikini set by Lisa Marie Fernandez. There are so many beautiful details to appreciate, including the contrast stitching, belt, and high-waisted bikini bottom – very James Bond if you ask me.
I know that swimwear shopping can be intimidating so here are a few tips to make the experience less overwhelming and enjoyable.
1. First and foremost, be gentle with yourself – we are our own worst critics (PS. working on this myself).
2. I always find trying bathing suits on at home more pleasurable, as store lighting can suck, for lack of a better word.
3. When ordering online, order more than 1 size to compare the fit.
4. Patience is key and think quality over quantity.
5. Look for brands that sell separate tops and bottoms to get that perfect fit.
6. Last but not least, go out of your comfort zone, and try the suit on. You might be pleasantly surprised.
