It’s been a month! Lots of New and Noteworthy mentions here on Fortune Inspired…
At the beginning of June, I hosted a Saks Fifth Avenue “live” event on their site where I showcased my favorite summer vacation pieces and how to style them. This was definitely a career highlight. For those who are interested in shopping my edit, you can find it here.
I also went to see the Broadway show “Plaza Suite” starring Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker (pinch me). I enjoyed the three one-act vignettes involving marriage and relationships.
I was so happy I made the time to treat myself to a bit of culture, something that I’d like to take more advantage of, especially as a New Yorker.
We definitely dined out more often this month which was a treat. Here are the restaurants we visited:
New York:
Palma – A delicious Italian restaurant with charming decor, including a hidden garden.
Fasano – Northern Italian fare in midtown. A beautiful space but I was unimpressed with my meal.
The Mark Restaurant by Jean George – A blue-chip UES restaurant that serves European classics and never disappoints.
Cipriani – Italian food, fabulous service, and great energy regardless of location.
Il Gradino – A new upscale Italian restaurant on the UES. Good food, nice crowd, cozy vibe.
Jersey Shore:
Moonstruck – I’m not as much of a fan of the food as I am of the charming outdoor porch seating and super friendly service. They also know how to pour a solid cocktail.
Tramas Trattoria – Authentic Tuscan Cuisine – I can’t get enough of their artichoke salad, whipped ricotta, and roasted branzino – always a homerun meal.
Talula’s Pizza – My favorite pizza on the Shore. I love the space, ie exposed brick wall and the communal seating plus… they make their own homemade sourdough crust which makes me feel like I am somehow eating healthy pizza.
Another June highlight was a dreamy Natura Bissé lip and eye treatment + express facial with facialist Oksana at the Julien Farel Salon. This was a gifted experience, something I don’t say yes to that often. However, when it comes to the lip and eye area, well, let’s just say, I’ll take all the help I can get.
I enjoyed the facial so much, that I booked one for July and plan to do this treatment once a month for 6 months (per their recommendation for best results).
2 new and noteworthy fashion finds this month is this fabulous Kule lightweight indigo/taupe linen sweater and these rayon check pants. I’ve been wearing this perfect summer sweater on repeat and as soon as I get the pants back from the tailor, I will be wearing the heck out of them as well – OBSESSED!
Wedding season is officially here and I found the most darling must-have striped cut-out gown by Alexis. I also came across this flowy and romantic lust-have Etro paisley print maxi dress that is now 50% off.
There has been lots of replenishing going on in the beauty department. I have some summer travel plans coming up so I thought I’d get a jump start on making sure I have my favorite skincare products on hand… here they are:
Aesop Deodorant – My armpits and I were recently turned on to this aluminum-free spray deodorant. Weirdly enough, people have been commenting on my scent. It must be the eleven essential oils that neutralize odors. I’ll take the compliment! One more thing…this is travel size so it’s perfect to throw in your travel bag.
Supergoop! Play Everyday Lotion SPF 50 – I appreciate the lightweight consistency as well as the $20 price point. This sunscreen is water and sweat-resistant and paraben-free.
Sisley Paris SPF 50+ – Anti-aging sun care for very sun-sensitive skin.
Erbaviva – I never leave home without this organic lavender & eucalyptus hand sanitizer. This also comes in a travel size.
R + Co BLEU De Luxe Reparative Shampoo – I’ve been using this nourishing shampoo for a while now. It’s great for colored and keratin hair. It leaves my hair feeling fresh and the scent is divine.
GHD Paddle Brush – I never leave home without this paddle brush that gently detangles without all the static.
Sun Bum SPF 50 Sunscreen – I can’t get enough of this summer scent plus I prefer a spray-on vs. a cream that I have to lather all over my body. Who even has time for that?
111Skin Rose Gold Illuminating Eye Mask – A must-have for post-travel hydration and illumination around the eye area.
La Mer Radiant Skin Tint SPF 30 (light-medium)– If I’m not wearing foundation, I am always wearing this tinted moisturizer which evens out my skin tone, provides light coverage, and adds a bit of color + glow.
Bioderma Make-Up Remover – My #1 makeup remover. It’s gentle on the skin and it’s not oily. This also comes in travel size.
Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster Soothe and Illuminate Cream – If you’re anything like me and all about a natural and healthy glow, you will love this cream. I apply this primer with a foundation brush after my moisturizer. If I’m lazy and/or in a rush, I will blend this together with my moisturizer in the palm of my hand and apply.
Last but not least, below are some books I purchased during the month of June. I recently started reading Book Lovers, a beach read that my brain can easily handle with a glass or 2 of rosé. Speaking of rosé, Whispering Angel just came out with a kosher version for anyone who drinks kosher wine only.

Hi Fortune, Love so many of your beauty suggestions! Am forever seeking an SPF lip balm that doesn’t leave lips too white so I can wear it under my favorite gloss. Trying 3 or 4 already this summer but most are slippery & gloss or lipstick doesn’t stay on top of it!
