Moda Operandi is my modus operandi for staying one step ahead of the fashion curve as it gives shoppers early access to designer trunkshows one full season in advance. Now if that’s not service, then, what is?
Moda Operandi’s trunkshows are as close as you’ll get to a front-row seat during fashion week but, in the comfort of your own home at any hour – think pj’s, facial mask, Netflix…
You can search your favorite designers and discover emerging talent as well, not only for ready-to-wear but for home and accessories as well. I discovered emerging designer Johanna Ortiz on this site and my favorite current it brand Alessandra Rich. Best of all, I always seem to find unique pieces on this site that I don’t see elsewhere.
The trunkshows are available on Moda Operandi for a limited time, so it’s fashionably important to check the site often.
Now that New York Fashion Week has moved on, I was able to sit back, relax and literally enjoy the Spring 2020 shows.
Even as the temperatures dip, I never truly have to let go of spring and summer fashion by pre-ordering my favorite pieces. Feels good to know that they are guaranteed – a sure thing if you will, as not all pieces from the runways make it to the stores, but they do make it to Moda Operandi. I curated my favorites which have me pining for spring 2020. I’m obsessed with each and every piece in this collage, first being this white ruched cotton midi dress by Prabal Gurung and this brown floral print dress by Mara Hoffman. Mara happens to be one of my favorite go-to spring-summer designers, so it’s truly a treat to see her entire collection in full spring so to speak. While I don’t consider myself a square, the square toe is en pointe when it comes to footwear trends and I have my eye (and foot) on these sandals by Staud and Cult Gaia. Speaking of Cult Gaia, this rattan bag is a must-have. I love this whimsical (and well priced) accessory. Lusting for Marc Cross’s new oval-shaped wicker bag. If you know me at all, you know I am a devotee of this brand as in I invest in one per season. I had the opportunity to attend Rosie Assoulin’s Spring fashion show and was smitten with all her pieces, but in particular with this square-necked orange striped cropped top.
Can you do the polka? Well, come Spring 2020 you certainly can with Michael Kors’s crepe de chine polka dot cropped top. I’m thinking Michael Kors may have taken inspiration from Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when he designed this brown and white polka dot blouse and short. How chic!
How ooh la la is Ulla Johnson green and denim jumpsuits for spring? I always gravitate towards jumpsuits as they’re an instant outfit and this style, in particular, is bohemian cool.
When it comes to gowns, no one does it better than Oscar de la Renta. I am swooning over this neutral-colored draped embroidered tulle gown, this Grecian inspired yellow draped silk-chiffon gown and these two (see here and here) wedding white perfect gowns.
What’s a girl without baubles? Loving this stunning, so delicate baroque pearl necklace by Sophie Bille Brahe – a lucky score while searching the trunk shows.
Another bonus when purchasing a full season ahead is that Moda Operandi only requires a 50% deposit at the time of purchase and the rest due at delivery – easier on the wallet. When the purchase arrives beautifully wrapped, it feels like you’ve been gifted. Can’t get better than that!
