Keeping it Tight

Tights are no longer worn to keep warm. Though we began to see a glimpse of this last season with Proenza Schouler’s oversized fishnets, this season designers took hosiery to new heights. Burberry and Saint Laurent kept it safe with black sheer stockings and geometric patterns. Alexander Wang went sheer as well, with a little badass text on the thigh – almost like a garter.
My two favorites are Prada’s argyle pattern – I’m always a sucker for some preppy in my wardrobe and I am also swooning for Chanel’s lace stockings from their pre-fall collection. Afraid to ask the price for these!
Candy canes are my favorite holiday treat but you will not find me looking like one as shown at Balenciaga… unless, I am invited to a dress up holiday party. Nothing makes me giddier than getting into character.
