I have been dying to see the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the New York Botanical Gardens since it opened in May.
I finally got there this past Sunday and spent the most dreamy day surrounded by art, music, flowers, fashion, food and family. Doesn’t get better than this!
The highlight of the exhibition was the recreation of Casa Azul, Kahlo’s garden in Mexico which provided much inspiration for her paintings. The all female mariachi band was fierce and added authenticity to our experience.
My daughter and I especially loved making our own flower wreaths inspired by Frieda Kahlo’s hair pieces in her self portraits.
The exhibit closes in early November…A must see!!!
