My Favorite Rattan Bags for Spring

I’m too passionate about straw/wicker/rattan bags not to give an annual shout out to this favorite spring/summer accessory of mine.

Whether or not neutral and natural handbags are trending (which they are), it’s always a must have for me. They’re easy to pair with any outfit and have a south of France vibe to them – a nod to Jane Birkin…

Over the years, I’ve definitely amassed a collection and the fact that I continue to wear them season after season, and bring them on my travels, is a testament to their staying power and make it worth the investment.

With that said, they do come in a variety of price points… think Cult Gaia to Hermès.

This season I’m coveting so many, it’s really hard to choose…but right now there are three at the top of my list.

The first is this adorable raffia mini bunny crossbody bag by Loewe. I always need a little whimsy in my life and this bushy-tailed bunny does the trick. For those who prefer a pop of color, check out these colors here and here.

The second is this woven wicker basket crossbody bag by Prada. I love the leather trim and unique hardware. The shape is tres chic, reminiscent of a vintage wicker bag.

Last but not least is anything by Mark Cross. I love their structured picnic inspired shapes and the quality is in the colorful leather details. I already have one from last year that will surely make its way into my current handbag rotation this summer. One thing to note: these bags have the option to be worn as a crossbody or as a top handle.

In the name of summer straw I must include some of my favorite sandals and belts.
